Guest posting means writing an article for someone else’s site in exchange for a byline link back to yours. It’s more work than almost anything else on this blog — and usually the most durable, relevant link you can earn for free.
Step 1: Find the right targets
Look for sites your actual audience reads, with real editorial standards — not sites that exist purely to sell guest-post slots. Our Guest Posting Sites list is curated with this in mind.
Step 2: Pitch a specific idea, not a topic
“I’d like to write for you” gets ignored. “Here’s a specific article title, a two-sentence angle, and why your readers would want it” gets read.
Step 3: Write for their audience, not yours
The article should be genuinely useful to the host site’s readers first — your link is a byproduct of writing something worth publishing, not the point of the article itself.
Step 4: Keep the link natural
One contextual link, or a bio link, is normal. Stuffing multiple exact-match links into the body reads as exactly what it is, and reputable sites will reject it.
If you’d rather not write it yourself
Our Guest Post Services handle sourcing, writing, and placement end to end.
